The official language of Brasil...

Well,I am ashamed to admit it, but I was thinking that the official language of Brasil is...Spanish.
And I made this terrible, stupid mistake, asking Gabritu (my Brasilian collegue at Alcatel-Lucent) to help me learn Spanish...
Actually he explained that the official language in Brasil is Portugese (blush).
Then a funny thing happened.
We went to a bar, I was explaining to some friends about that confusion, when a guy asked me: "Excuse me, do u speak Portugese". Obviously he was Portugese himself and had overheard our conversation. I told him (in English of course)what we were talking about and he smiled at my confusion.
That's a little lesson on cultural sensitivity. Now I know for sure what the official language in Brasil is

What customers really want :)

One friend sent me this a while ago and I think it perfectly illustrates the miscommunication between a customer and the different departments of a company...:)
Note: I changed the template of my blog...it was too dark and gloomy, this one is quite better - lemon fresh ;)

My snobbish self

Not so many of us have a noble background. If you have ever dreamt of becoming a Duchess or a Vicount, but your family tree somehow doesn't allow it, visit this site.
Being an aristocrat has never been so easy, eh ;)

Shift happens

Today I came across this video.
And I am asking myself - how often do we ask ourselves the question "Where we are heading globally?"
Most of the time we are occupied with our daily worries. We somehow happen to skip the "global agenda".
Yet, when sometimes I come to think about it I usually get so depressed. The world is getting more and more polluted, more aggressive, more overwhelmed with information, less humane. Of course, I am asking myself - what do I do in my daily life to prevent this. All the tiny everyday things - such as not using nylon bags for example. And trying to be a good person.
But is it enough for a real shift to happen?
